There is a continual expression of motion which makes this film art. These stylistic choices keep the viewer engaged. Audiences rarely have time to grow bored because their eyes are constantly moving from one movement to the next. Unsuccessful films may have less movement or tighter framing. The people photographed have less freedom of movement than those in a formalistic film would have. The motion is always changing and varied. Some scenes may be slower while other scenes are fast motion. One of the most well-known fast-motion scenes is the twister scene. The motion in this scene is jerky and chaotic. Tumbleweeds and debris move at an alarming rate which allows the viewer to participate in the action with Dorothy and the other characters. The song â€Å"If I Only Had a Brain† opens with scarecrow and Dorothy sitting, but not for long. They are soon up and moving again. The scarecrow resumes song and dance and Dorothy, although not dancing, is still moving. Pansexuality is defined as the sexual, romantic, or emotional attractions to people regardless of their sex or gender identity. After years of repressed emotions and internalized homophobia, I finally came to terms that I at least wasnt straight back in June 2016. Up until that point, even though I’ve never been homophobic, I denied even the slightest chance that I could be anything but heterosexual. Unfortunately the internal battle I had with myself for many years was a major toll on my mental health. Even though my mental health isn’t really any better right now, I know that the worry over my sexuality isn’t the cause and it shouldn’t be a defining feature for me, but that it did trigger a period of personal-growth for me. For as†¦show more content†¦When I was in seventh grade there was a student in the grade above mine that identified as gay and was more feminine, he later became one of my best friends. A friend that used to go to my school h ad an older sister that was bisexual, she was also my friend, even helped me with bullies. In eighth grade, I attended a leadership camp for the second time and met a boy from a different school who was queer. Later that year my (bisexual) friend started dating girl that used to go to my school, after they broke up she dated one of my older friends. It was also the same place where I heard homophobic slurs for the first time. The kids at my school would use the words gay and faggot towards each other, never towards bisexual students but at sometimes at the only gay student. I still hear people use these terms but now I try to get them to stop using them. Eighth grade wasn’t a very good year for me. You’d think that with our teacher retiring within the first two weeks of school and our class having a different substitute teacher everyday because the previous one refuses to come back because of our horrible behaviour, that I would have had fun that year, but unfortunately it wasn’t like that. I mean, don’t get me wrong there were days where I couldn’t be happier to mess with teachers with my friends, which I understand was bad, but then there were days when I didn’t even want to get out of bed. Architecture depends on symmetry, what Vitruvius calls the proper agreement between the members of the work itself. Symmetry is from the Greek word symmetros meaning measured together. Proportion is from the Latin word proportio meaning for the part, or the relationship of the portions. What humans consider beautiful has been examined for thousands of years. Humans may have an innate preference for what looks acceptable and beautiful. A man with tiny hands and a large head may look out of proportion. A woman with one breast or one leg may look asymmetrical. Humans spend an enormous amount of money every day on what they consider is a beautiful body image. Design, from the Latin word designare meaning to mark out, is the overall process, but design outcomes depend on symmetry and proportion. Says who? Vitruvius. De Architectura Ancient Roman architect Marcus Vitruvius Pollio wrote the first architecture textbook called On Architecture (De Architectura). Nobody knows when it was written, but it reflects the dawn of human civilization — in the first century B.C. into the first decade A.D. It wasnt until the Renaissance, however, when the ideas of ancient Greece and Rome were reawakened, that De Architectura was translated into Italian, French, Spanish, and English. During the 1400s, 1500s, and 1600s, what became known as The Ten Books on Architecture was widely distributed with a number of added illustrations. Much of the theory and construction basics spelled out by Vitruvius for his patron, the Roman Emperor, inspired Renaissance architects and designers of that day and even those in the 21st century. So, what does Vitruvius say? Leonardo da Vinci Sketches Vitruvius Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519) is sure to have read Vitruvius. We know this because da Vincis notebooks are filled with sketches based on the words in De Architectura. Da Vincis famous drawing of The Vitruvian Man is a sketch directly from the words of Vitruvius. These are some of the words Vitruvius uses in his book: SYMMETRY in the human body the central point is naturally the navel. For if a man be placed flat on his back, with his hands and feet extended, and a pair of compasses centered at his navel, the fingers and toes of his two hands and feet will touch the circumference of a circleAnd just as the human body yields a circular outline, so too a square figure may be found from it.For if we measure the distance from the soles of the feet to the top of the head, and then apply that measure to the outstretched arms, the breadth will be found to be the same as the height, as in the case of plane surfaces which are perfectly square. What we think of as the hidden codes in architecture, Leonardo da Vinci saw as divine. If God designed with these ratios when He made man, then man should design the built environment with the ratios of sacred geometry. Thus in the human body there is a kind of symmetrical harmony between forearm, foot, palm, finger, and other small parts, writes Vitruvius, and so it is with perfect buildings. Designing with Symmetry and Proportion Although European in origin, the concepts written down by Vitruvius seem to be universal. For example, researchers estimate that Native American Indians migrated to North America from Northern Asia about 15,000 years ago — well before even Vitruvius was alive. Yet when European explorers like Francisco VÃ ¡squez de Coronado from Spain first encountered the Wichita people in North America in the 1500s, symmetrical huts of grass were well-built and proportioned large enough to house entire familes. The Actor Network Theory tries to develop the relationship of all the factors which led to the scientific or technical development in form of a network. This theory highlights the relationship of the Human and Non-Human factors called Actants and present a theory for the descrip tion which gives a clear meaning and material. This theory is also in controversy as it treats both Human and Non-Human Actants equally in the Actants Network. Actor Network Theory- According to the Actor Network the theory Actant can be described as the Entity which participates in a relationship, the entity can be human or a non-human. For example if one travel in a train then Driver, Passengers, On-Duty Personals, Train, Engine, Technology of Running Train, Fuel all are considered to be an Actant for Train Travelling System. Software Actant are the series of instructions to computer in a particular programming language to perform certain task or bring a functionality in a computer. Further Hardware Actants are Non-Human physical elements which participate in development of a technical or scientific innovation. For example physical components of computer, devices used for networking of the computers, interconnected electronic devices or the Digital Computer devices controlled through softwares. The Social Actants are the people, culture and structures. Actor Network theory brings Human and Non-Human factors together in one network, basically it states nothing is alone, there is association, there is dependency and there is relation among either Human-Human factors or Human-Non-Human Factors. It also utilises the Semiotic concept to map the relationship between Actants. The concepts in Actor Network Theory can be categorized into the Translation, Intermediaries Mediators, Generalized Symmetry, Actants, Token Objects and Punctualisation. Intermediaries are those actants which does not bring any difference in the objective of the Network on the other hand Mediators Modify and also can distort the meaning or elements it carry. Generalized Symmetry defines all the Actants whether Human or Non-Human Actants should be treated equally. Actants are participating Entities in the network. Token Object is defined as the participating actant at particular instant and Punctualisation can be defined as Black Boxed. The Actor Network Theory concepts are helpful in performing the management of an organization as it associates all human as well as the non-human elements in a network to understand the complexity of an organization. It provides a holistic approach to use the technologies to run an organization. Not only has it helped to select the best technology for organization it also considers the social impact and social influence of the technologies . It also helps in developing an informed approach of selecting the samples for data analysis. This theory is also helpful in Human Resource Management. It helps in examining the repetitive activities and developing a well-designed framework for understanding the variation and consistency elements , it is also helpful for analysing the time and space in assigned management practice. Moreover this theory stresses to imply the case-studies for research to have a wide description of various management practices and due to their derivation the best man agement practice is developed and can be applied (Cresswell, Worth, 2010 ) . Benefits and Advantages- The advantages of the Actor Network Theory are several. Secondly as other theories completely ignore the non-Human elements in description of the innovation on the other hand ANT completely specifies the non-Human elements, their role, and association in the development. ANT even specifies the assumptions taken for developments which are somehow marginalized. ANT also focuses on the change management . Like other theories ANT is also criticized for various reasons firstly the complexity of this theory. Secondly it gives limited analysis of social structures. The main Actants in this news story are Structural Actant, Assemblage Actant, Digital Actant, Network Actant and semeotic Actant. This news story focuses on the campaign initiated by Facebook Head Mr Mark Zuckerberg which demands to make free the limited access of Internet making some educational and government and some social websites free. For this Facebook has launched a plan for their campaign Internet.org which is a structural Actant helpful for describing the Computing Assemblage of the plan. Now a big discussion arises in the permission allotted to the websites under Internet.org to have access to the users , the conflict in assemblage to decide which websites are for service and which are for economic or political gain. Internet.org assembles all the websites as Actants in the Assemblage and position them as it or Blocked. At the technical level the proxy server with its Encryption-Decryption techni que and through Hypertext transfer Protocol will act as an actant in the network to control the permission to the websites in the network. But here the risk that Hackers will misuse the digital Actants. The e-commerce websites will also gain benefit by gaining new possible potential users for their products. Another big question is the issue of privacy of peoples because several government websites contain data about personal detail which can be misused. Secondly the campaign partners Nokia, Samsung, Ericsson, Opera and Qualcomm are actively participating in this cause or not . The Analysis of this story through Actor Network Theory is as follows .The main Actants in this news story are Structural Actant, Octant Actant, Digital Actant, Semantic Actant, Generalized Symmetry and Cooaption. According to the Eriksson which is the largest supplier of communication devices in the world has stated that it expects that there will be about 150 million users for next generation 5G smart networks in coming next 5 years. Here both Ericsson and Nokia are Actants and they both play generalized Symmetry in this news story. Here both of them can also be defined as Octant type Entity as they develop or participates in technical innovation. With this a debate has raised do the upgrading of network should begin. Upgrading of the network implies that the organizations should start developing Infrastructure as well as the software as well as Hardware components compatible to the coming 5G Network. On the other hand Ericsson rival company Nokia has stated that 5G ready network w ill be ready by 2017. Here 5G is a main participating Digital Actants, The Ericsson and The Nokia acts as a Structural Actants in the network. Another debate is what will be the feature of 5G as both the companies are giving their views and secondly what type and number of devices will be required to use 5G Network. Actor Network Theory is a very significant approach to highlight each and every element either it is Human or Non-Human elements. John A. Hess’s article on Nazism and free speech, written while the Nazi regime was still in power in Germany, talks about the different views that were prevalent regarding the success of Nazism and the freedom that the press in different countries enjoyed. The article points on how commentators in Germany talked of the freedom of press in relative terms. According to them, countries like England and France do not provide their press with freedom. The reason that is advanced for th is is that the press in these countries, in order to survive, is excessively dependent upon the opinion of the people. The commentator who is referred to in the article points out how the sales of the newspapers in these countries dipped when matters that were not of immediate interest to the people were not published. This is, however, a weak argument as the news that is of importance to the people is what ought to be published in any democracy. In this case, it is the people who have the rights to decide which piece of news is worthy of publication and which one is not. Thus, the supreme authority rests with the people and not with the state functionaries. This is not the case in a Nazi state where the members of the ruling party have the power to be autocratic in deciding the topics that are to be dealt with by the press. This authority of the state subverts the very fundamentals of the idea of the freedom of the press. Hess later in his article points out how the people in democ ratic countries like America had the right to question the state in which they found the press, a right that was not available to people who were a part of countries ruled by the Nazi regimes. This argument again, strikes at the mistakes of the arguments that were made by apologists of the Nazi regime. The article, thus, demonstrates the hollowness of the arguments that were advanced by such people regarding the freedom that the press enjoyed under the Nazi regime. It also reveals that the freedom to question and protest were the most important rights that a person had under a democracy. Even if the state of things is not perfect in a democracy, as long as the right to protest remained intact, the press of the country could be considered to be free, according to Hess. The article demonstrates how the people of a certain nation, in an attempt to be apologists of the existing regime of the country, can be blind to the obvious. Hess manages to point out clearly the defects of the Nazi regime and the positives of a democratic form of government being opposed to it.
